Heidentrude f. The prototheme is disputed (cf. Brechenmacher s.n. Heidenreich), and may be Old High German heida 'heath, heather' or Old High German heidano 'heathen'. The deuterotheme is Proto-Germanic *þrūþ 'strength' or Proto-Germanic *trut 'maiden'.
