Savory f. Anglo-Norman sauverré, savure, savré, Anglo-Norman, Old French savoré, Anglo-Norman, Old French, Middle French savouré 'sweet, pleasant, fragrant'.

The word savory in English didn't gain overtones of 'flavorful but not sweet' until the early 16th C, and it was still used in its original meaning through the end of that century.
