Pelagius m. A derivative of Ancient Greek πέλαγος 'sea'.

The name of a 3rd C Croatian martyr, a 4th-5th C British moralist whose views were condemned as heretical in the early 5th C, two 6th C popes, an 8th C king of Asturias, and a 10th C Spanish saint.

The name was most common in the Iberian peninsula.
