Narcissus m. Latin narcissus 'narcissus, daffodil' from Greek νάρκισσος, of uncertain origin (cf. Beekes, p. 997.).

In Greek mythology, the name of a son of the river god Cephissus; in history, the name of one of the 70 Disciples, a 3rd C patriarch of Jerusalem and saint, and a 4th C martyr.
