Huno m. A hypocoristic of any of various names beginning with hun-, an element of uncertain origin. Morlet I:140a speculates that it may be related to Norwegian hunn 'bear', Late Latin Hunnus from Turkic Hun-yü 'Hun' (a nomadic tribe), or possibly Old French un 'one'.
